Megan Torres is a Licensed Independent Social Worker. I’m not sure how I first heard about her on IG, but I’m so glad that I did. I’ve learned from Megan, been challenged, and been given action steps that I can take through her posts. Megan was also on the Speaking of Racism podcast and shared about her experience with her son’s private Montessori school in the episode “Fighting for Racial Justice in Schools with Megan Torres and Janelle Faison.” Listening to, trusting, believing, supporting, and financially investing in the work of Black womxn is necessary, and I wanted to highlight Megan today as a Black woman that the followers of this page should listen to, trust, believe, and support by financially investing in the work she does.
Follow @trustmeimasocialworker if you aren’t already, and send her money via Venmo (Megalinn-Torres). I also heard about the A Kids Book About collection through Megan and was able to order A Kids Book About Racism using the code she provided. She will receive a portion of the link sales this month, so head over to her page and use the link in her bio to purchase a book (or more) from the AKBA collection.
